Nanette Moss

Nanette Moss is a native of Sherrill ford NC. She is married to Roosevelt Moss Jr. of 35 years. They have five children three daughters in laws, one son in law and 8 grandchildren. Nanette’s love and passion for the students in which she works with has been driven by the love and compassion she shared and continues to share with her own children. As a Teacher Assistant for Catawba County Schools, she has been able to continue her passion for working with youth…especially adolescents for approximate 18years. It was during her years of service at Bandy’s High School that Nanette found her purpose and vision for life, which was to continue doing what she loves; encouraging and motivating young people to reach their fullest potential.

In 2003, Nanette set out with a full vision in mind to start her own non-profit mentoring program. The purpose of the program is to provide a positive, nurturing and safe environment in which students are motivated to thrive while preparing for the success of their future. The ultimate goal for the program is to foster a commitment to young people that will allow students to tap into their potential for academic excellence, promote pro-social friendship through cultural/social enrichment, while building self-esteem as well as modeled citizens for our community.

As Nanette began to lay the foundation for her program, she soon realized that if education was important for her students, then it had to be important for herself as well.  In 2008 Nanette began the journey to add to her experience of working with adolescents by enrolling in Mitchell Community College in Statesville NC, where she received her Associate in Art Degree for Pre-Psychology. Nanette furthered her studies in the field of Psychology in 2014, when she enrolled at Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a concentration in Life Coaching and a minor in Christian Counseling on May 14th 2016.

Currently Nanette is building on her foundation as she works to serve the students who are currently enrolled in her program. Her goal is to have a fully functioning facility by 2018 that will allow her to continue doing what she love to do, which is making a difference  while connecting lives with the many students that will continue to cross her path.
